Everton identify PSV centre-forward Joel Piroe as a summer target

Everton are reportedly in pursuit of young centre-forward Joel Piroe from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven.

, Juventus are in talks with PSV about the 19-year-old and want to take him to the San Siro.

But the report details Juventus will face competition from Everton for the signature of player who will see his contract expire in the summer.

Inter Milan are also credited with interest, but Juventus are frontrunners as it stands after their approach.

Piroe is a highly-rated striker at PSV that has been a frequent scorer at youth level this campaign, but is still waiting for his senior PSV debut.

TBR’s View:

Everton fans should be pulling their hair out that the club are targeting an inexperienced attacker that is yet to play first-team football at the age of 19.

Piroe could well be a future star and of course it’s important the Toffees invest in youth, but the centre-forward area is somewhere that the club need to go big on in the summer.

Marco Silva’s team are crying out for a frontline striker next year, as Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison have had to fill the void during various parts of the season .

It looks like Everton will come up short in their pursuit of Piroe anyway with Juventus making an approach and it’s important now that the club start targeting some proven attackers that can make an immediate impact on the XI.
