Everton hit with another blow as Calvert-Lewin injury worsens

Everton set to suffer as Calvert-Lewin injury worsens.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has become Everton’s main goalscoring threat in the last couple of seasons.

However, this season they are having to learn how to get by without him.

The 24-year-old has been injured since the end of August with a thigh problem, so far missing five games in the Premier League.

A new report now claims that the striker could be out for significantly longer.

According to the , there are fears that Calvert-Lewin could now face up to 12 weeks on the sidelines.

That could see the striker out until early 2022.

This is a result of the striker facing complications with his rehabilitation.

First and foremost here is that Calvert-Lewin is able to recover and get back to his best.

However, as far as the Everton fans will be concerned, this is dreadful news.

The striker has only played three games this season, yet he’s found the net in all of those.

Last season saw him put up the best goalscoring figures of his career.

Calvert-Lewin bagged 16 goals across 33 games for the Toffees () and led the line with ease.

Whilst the 24-year-old recovers from his injury woes, Everton will have to get by with Salomon Rondon.

The Venezuelan striker signed over the summer but has so far failed to impress.

He’s yet to score a goal and was involved in an unsavoury incident over the weekend.

Whilst accidental, the striker stepped down onto the face of Tomas Soucek vs West Ham, leaving the midfielder requiring treatment ().

It’s not what anyone wants to see in football, but with not a lot going well for Rondon at Goodison Park, it hasn’t helped.

Hopefully, he can start scoring goals to deputise for Calvert-Lewin.

When the English star returns, though, you’d imagine he’ll come back with a bang.
