Everton have just enquired about signing £34m English striker who’s been compared to Didier Drogba
Everton are now thinking about signing an English striker this summer.
Sean Dyche is keen to strengthen his side ahead of the start of the new Premier League season, and he could do with reinforcements in multiple areas of the pitch.
The Wilfried Gnonto saga is getting complicated even though it looked like a deal would be done between Leeds and Everton.
Now, the Toffees are said to have turned their attention towards an out-and-out striker to solve their goalscoring woes next season.
Everton enquire about signing Tammy Abraham
Everton deserve a lot of credit for avoiding relegation in the 2023/24 season.
The Merseysiders looked in serious trouble at one point after they were docked points, but Dyche and his men managed to finish 14 points above the bottom three in the end.
Everton are hoping for a much more comfortable season, and to achieve that, they will have to solve one of their biggest problems – their attack.
The Toffees have good players at the top end of the pitch, but none of them are prolific goalscorers who will guarantee at least double digits every season.
That’s why Everton had the second-worst goalscoring record in the Premier League in the 2023/24 campaign – they managed just 40 goals in 38 games.
With Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s future uncertain, Everton are on the market for a new striker, and Italian journalist Gianluigi Longari has shared an update.
He has revealed that Everton have just enquired about the possibility of signing Tammy Abraham from AS Roma in the coming weeks.
In a short , Longari wrote: “Everton enquires with Roma about Tammy Abraham!”

One big concern about Abraham for Everton
Abraham is an immensely talented striker.
The Englishman, once a part of Chelsea’s successful side, has proven that he can score goals regularly over the years. .
However, Abraham, who joined Roma in a £34 million deal (), missed most of last season due to a serious knee injury. He played just eight games in the Serie A and scored only once.
Bouncing back from a cruciate ligament injury is never easy, which is why signing him would be a slightly risky move this summer.
However, if the Toffees can get him for the right price, we think this is a risk worth taking.
