Everton fans urge Leeds to sign midfielder Fabian Delph

Leeds United secured automatic promotion from the Championship on Friday – and some Everton fans on Twitter responded by urging the Yorkshire club to sign their midfielder Fabian Delph.

Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds have been promoted back to the top-flight with two games remaining, ending their 16-year exile from the Premier League.

The Whites will be back in England’s elite division next season and it will be intriguing to see how the summer transfer window plays out for them now, as they prepare for a new season.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media want their current player Delph to return to Elland Road, as he’s really struggled for form with them.

Delph started out his senior career at Leeds after coming through the academy and has played for Aston Villa, Manchester City and now Everton since leaving in 2009.

The 30-year-old enforcer moved to Goodison Park last summer for £8.5million (), but his debut season on Merseyside has been hit with injuries and he’s struggled with form too.

He is a left-footed central midfielder that has earned 20 senior international caps for England and won two Premier League titles with Man City, but his recent form this season suggests he is past his peak.

Delph is clearly out of favour with some of the Everton fanbase, who are urging his former club Leeds to consider him.
