Everton fans suggest Cenk Tosun is sold amid reported interest
Everton attacker Cenk Tosun is reportedly attracting interest from Qatari club Al Gharafa – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter believe he should be sold.
reports that the Qatar side may be prepared to make a “substantial offer” and their transfer window doesn’t close until 30 September.
Tosun is still under contract at Goodison Park until 2022, but is struggling to force his way into the plans of manager Marco Silva.
The centre-forward hasn’t featured in any of the Premier League games so far this campaign, with young duo Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Moise Kean picked ahead of him.
Meanwhile, he grabbed an assist during his brief appearance from the bench against Lincoln City in the cup.
The 28-year-old is the most senior option at striker, but clearly isn’t fancied by Silva and has a tough battle on his hands if he remains with the Toffees.
He played just 29 times across all competition last term, scoring four goals and supplying three assists in return.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media feel that it would be a good move for Tosun to exit this month, as they recognise he’s fighting a losing battle with the manager.
The Turkey international doesn’t possess blistering pace, but previously proved he’s a clinical goalscorer and does have ability.
Here are some Everton fans reacting to the Tosun speculation:
We never start him or use him as a sub and he’s very talented at this point I feel sorry for the fella and I’d rather he play somewhere at least than waste his career on the miserable side of Merseyside

Plz take him

I was always a Cenk Tosun fan because I think the lad is a goal scorer but he’s too slow for the way Silva wants to play, if we get a ‘substantial’ offer as quoted I would take it, especially if it enables us to bring Zouma back in January.

100%
Not in Plans, high earner, age 28, three ahead of him to play.
Not knocking the lad, he seems desperate to want to be part of it.

Obviously Silva thinks DCL is better so I would take the money & use to buy another striker in January.

Without a doubt. Seems like a decent fella and all but we’ve seen enough to know Silva doesn’t rate him, so it becomes a financial decision and he’s on a fair whack.

Either he isn’t showing enough in training or Silva just doesn’t want to use him so we should just sell at this point unfortunately

He can’t play the lone striker role in this league so we need to sell him for money, and for his career alone
