Everton fans react to Lucas Digne performance in Manchester City loss
Everton lost 3-1 to Premier League champions Manchester City last night and after the game plenty of the usual suspects were getting stick from the Everton fans.
Jordan Pickford’s poor form continued whilst the likes of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Morgan Schneiderlin are near-universally disliked among the Goodison fanbase.
But even one of the club’s more popular players was on the receiving end of some stick from the Everton fans.
Lucas Digne has been a big hit with the fans since his arrival from Barcelona last season. His wicked crossing, set-piece danger and marauding runs forward make him a positive left-back the fans love.

However, when it comes to his defensive attributes, he occasionally has an off day. This was one of those days.
Digne struggled throughout the game to handle the enigmatic performance of City’s man-of-the-match Riyad Mahrez.
He also struggled to develop any sort of link-up down the left-hand side with Alex Iwobi compared to the way he would usually with Bernard.
Digne remains a top player for Everton and when they are on the attack a major threat. However, the defensive side of his game is always going to be called into question.
Hopefully, this was just a bad day at the office from the French international.
As good as Digne is, when we he learn to stop diving into challenges.

Poor from Digne. No need to dive in. Exceptional ball in from De Bruyne. Delph looks injured. Can’t see him out in the 2nd half.

Digne getting done for diving in again.

Digne was proper poor today

Disagree completely tbh keepers get judged so much more harshly than anyone else on the pitch. Digne was objectively a lot worse than Pickford today and made more mistakes but no one is having a go at him are they

I thought Digne really struggled there today

Apart from digne and iwobi I thought the team played okay today. Many were frustrated we didn’t try and go toe to toe with them, do that and they’ll kill you.

Showed fight tonight but not taking our chances and individual errors cost us . Hands down the worst performance I have seen from Lucas Digne . 3 points at Burnley is a must now .

Unpopular opinion:
Lucas digne can’t defend.

Today is Lucas Digne’s day off, isn’t it?
