Everton fans react to Kurt Zouma performance in Chelsea clash
Everton defeated Chelsea 3-1 at Goodison Park yesterday in Duncan Ferguson’s first game in caretaker charge since the departure of Marco Silva.
The result was a fair reflection on Everton’s far improved performance under the cult hero and fans were very happy with the display of several of their players.
However, Everton fans were also commenting after the game on the performance of a former player.
Kurt Zouma endeared himself to the Everton fans last season with some impressive performances at the back for the Toffees.
The Frenchman was even wanted on a permanent deal in the summer but the appointment of Frank Lampard saw Zouma wanted at Stamford Bridge.
This was not, however, a happy return to Goodison Park for Zouma.
The Chelsea defender struggled with the physicality and industriousness of Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the Everton attack and Chelsea fans were left frustrated with his display.
Everton fans, however, were also reacting to Zouma’s performance, suggesting his soft spot for the club might have gotten the better of him.
