Delph has had to withdraw from the England squad due to this muscle injury sustained at the end of the Burnley clash. Everton lost that game 1-0 and now Delph’s injury has added to the club’s woes.
Going into the international break, Everton have dropped into the relegation zone. After losing 1-0 away to Burnley, Everton’s form has seen them drop into the bottom three.

Delph could have had some respite during the break as he prepared for England duty. But the left-footed midfielder has been forced to withdraw. He will spend the break undergoing some assessment from the Everton medical team and starting his rehabilitation instead.
The 29-year-old had only just broken back into the Three Lions squad. Gareth Southgate recalled Delph to his midfield after he had overcome his previous injury. But it is deja vu for Delph.
