Everton fans react to Cenk Tosun’s heroic impact in Tottenham game marred by horror injury
Everton drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur this evening in a game that was marred by a horror injury suffered by Andre Gomes.
The Portuguese midfielder appeared to suffer a career-altering leg break and it was an incident that certainly shook some of the Everton players.
When it comes to fan reaction, most Everton supporters simply wanted to wish their midfield maestro a quick recovery.
However, plenty also had well wishes for Cenk Tosun, who came on to salvage a point in the game.

The Turkish striker was thrown in from the cold by Silva and was one of the Everton players most visibly impacted by the injury to Gomes. He held the player’s head in comfort before offering a prayer and seemed to be visibly angry about the incident.
He turned those emotions into actions by heading home Lucas Digne’s brilliant left-foot volleyed cross and giving Everton a deserved draw at Goodison Park.
Tosun has been seemingly cast aside by Marco Silva and when he was brought into the game plenty of Everton fans were shocked to hear his name. That prompted some angry reaction.
But what Tosun always does is give his all and with Everton currently in a dogfight, a player like Tosun is sometimes exactly what you need.
Here is some of the best reaction to his display.

So happy for tosun he’s been waiting for this

Well done Tosun and I remain convinced that if you are fed with accurate crosses you will score regularly. The injury to Gomes and the red card for Richarlison are all evidence that the gods are not on our side. It will be interesting to see how Silva will cope.

Start Tosun, I’ve said it a couple of times. Last 6/7 appearances he’s been hungry. Looked the ball, held up play well. Got himself some goals. Get him in the starting line up, a 4-4-2 him and Kean
