A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Andre Gomes after the midfielder helped the Toffees into the third round of the Carabao Cup with a win at Huddersfield on Tuesday.
Rafa Benitez’s men continued their unbeaten start to the campaign as they beat the Terriers.

Alex Iwobi and Andros Townsend bagged the two goals for the visitors. But it was not the easiest night for the Premier League side.
Moise Kean was sent off. And some of the fringe players given chances seemed to fail to make the most of their opportunities.
Andre Gomes a standout as Everton beat Huddersfield
One member of the squad who did impress however, was Gomes. The 28-year-old was named on the bench after not being included in either match day squad for their opening two top flight fixtures.
The Portuguese was brought on shortly before the hour mark. And he went on to make a key impact on the tie.

It was his brilliant work down the left with Lucas Digne that led to Gomes finding Townsend for the winning goal.
In fact, despite only spending 33 minutes on the pitch, no player made a greater number of key passes than Gomes ().
And plenty of Everton fans have suggested on social media that he is one of the players who deserves real credit.
‘Did well when he came on’
It has not been an easy time for the midfielder at Goodison Park. And it is not hard to imagine that the Toffees would have accepted a substantial bid for Gomes had one arrived this summer.
But some hope that his display can act as a turning point in his career on Merseyside.
With that in mind, here is how some of the Everton fans reacted to Gomes’s performance…
Onwards and Upwards, into the next round.
Tonight was a big opportunity for a lot of players to prove a point to Benitez, and it’s fair to say, some didn’t.
Impressed by Gomes when he came on, as well as Gray, also great to see Gbamin back!
Onto Brighton!

Phew. Relieved but into the next round is all that matters. Digne and Gomes made a difference when they came on.

Kudos to Digne and Gomes there, got us over the line

That Andre Gomes assist was a beauty. Could be really really big for us if he gets back to “8” Gomes.
