A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from over the weekend claiming that Jose Mourinho is a potential target should Rafa Benitez be replaced as manager.
Benitez is coming under serious pressure from supporters. The Toffees are on a torrid run of form, having not won a single game against a team outside the bottom three since the end of August. In fact, they have not won at all since September.

Many may have expected the end of the Spaniard’s tenure to come when they were beaten comfortably in the Merseyside derby last week.
However, as things stand, Farhad Moshiri remains convinced that Benitez is the right man for the job. Nevertheless, it appears that other names are being considered.

that Mourinho is on their radar. It is noted that the Portuguese would be open to a return to the Premier League, despite only taking the Roma job in the summer.
It would be a big surprise to see Mourinho return to England. His stock has fallen quite considerably in the last few years. He came in for plenty of criticism during the latter stages of his tenure with Manchester United and while at Tottenham.
‘Well past his best’: Everton fans react to Jose Mourinho reports
And his time at Roma has been mixed. They are some way off the title picture in Serie A.
With that in mind, it is no surprise that most Everton fans have absolutely no interest in Mourinho replacing Benitez. They do want a change. But that is not the change they believe that needs making.
Here is how some of the Everton supporters make of the reports…
Like Rafa well past his best….once great…we need an up and coming young manager like Brentford boss

We will never ever learn. He is not the answer.

Let’s hope not. Ridiculous wages for someone who isn’t the answer. Not sure who is mind. Our biggest problem has been player recruitment. Need to get that right.

Mourinho was decent years ago. Now he’s past it and we shouldn’t be anywhere near him in my opinion
