A number of Everton fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Fabian Delph after the midfielder’s display in their Premier League defeat to Wolves on Monday night.
Rafa Benitez has not seen his side win in their last four in the top flight. And unfortunately, they have now suffered three losses on the bounce.

They were 2-0 down inside 32 minutes at Molineux, conceding twice in just four minutes against Bruno Lage’s side.
In an attempt to turn the game around, Benitez replaced Jean-Philippe Gbamin with Delph at the break.
Delph has never been a player who has won over the Everton fanbase. He has largely proved to be an underwhelming signing following his 2019 arrival from Manchester City.

So supporters may have felt incredibly frustrated when learning that Delph was coming on against Wolves.
However, he went on to produce a display that left many Everton fans feeling that he was actually their best player in the loss.
The 31-year-old never shied away from getting stuck in. And he never hid from getting on the ball either.
Plenty of supporters clearly felt that Delph’s introduction was crucial to Everton’s improvement after the break. Alex Iwobi got a goal back for the Toffees midway through the second-half.
‘Our best player’: Everton fans laud Fabian Delph after Wolves loss
And now, some fans have admitted that they would like to see Delph handed a start when they face Tottenham on Sunday.
Several have insisted that he was a shining light on Monday – though many have noted that they cannot believe that they rated Delph’s display so highly.
With that in mind, here is what some of the Everton fans made of Delph’s performance at Wolves…
Can’t believe saying this, but would start Delph Sunday – made a big difference when coming on and had energy about him. Gbamin on the other hand looks static and just slowly trotted around like MS used to.

Gbamin was way off it but the poor lad has been injured for years. I never got the hate for Delph, he was 1 of our better players.
Credit to Richarlison chasing everything down, making runs but not being found, he nearly got a goal with the block of the keeper.

Fabian Delph 👏🏼 btw our best player on the pitch
— Marcrimmer (@Marcrimmer1878)
“Delph was probably our best player tonight and should start on Sunday” is not something I ever thought I’d find myself saying.

I know Delph isn’t the most popular player among the fanbase but I wish more Everton players had his nous. He knows what to do with the ball. He can take the sting out and slow things down. Not enough Everton players use their head in possession. They panic or are aimless.

Delph best player there by a mile

Mad how Delph was our best player, is that really what it has come too…
