Everton defender Yerry Mina has emerged as a surprise target for Newcastle United, . Newcastle are in the market for a defender – and Everton fans have reacted on Twitter.
Mina, 27, has been indifferent ever since moving to Everton from Barcelona in 2018. In three and a half seasons, the Colombia international has only played 84 games – just seven this season.
Injuries have hampered the progress of Mina in an Everton shirt. While he has been good when available, it has not been long enough – in the eyes of many Everton fans. His contract ends in 2023.
Unless he signs a new deal at Everton, the Toffees will have to sell him in January or next summer if they are to get a decent fee for his services. that Newcastle are eyeing a £17million move.

Newcastle desperately need to bring in a central defender. Sunday’s 4-0 defeat to Leicester was proof of that, as the Toon were easily beaten by a Foxes side that did not even contain Jamie Vardy.
Jamaal Lascelles is first choice, and a choice of Fabian Schar, Ciaran Clark or Fede Fernandez to go alongside him. But Newcastle are struggling to keep clean sheets and a centre-back is crucial.
