Everton fans react as Jonjoe Kenny is nominated for Bundesliga monthly award
Everton looked slightly short at right back going into the summer but nevertheless took the decision to loan young English defender Jonjoe Kenny out to German side Schalke.
The Jadon Sancho effect has seen more and more English players take the plunge and move to the Bundesliga, and it seems as if the move is going well for Kenny so far.
He has been nominated for the Bundesliga ‘Rookie of the Month’ award for his form at Schalke so far, where he has played every minute of their league campaign so far, scoring a goal from right back as well.
Kenny goes up against Ruben Vargas of Augsburg, a 21-year-old winger who has three goals from his first three games and Xaver Schlager of Wolfsburg.

The news didn’t go unnoticed by Everton fans, who were keen to vote and help Kenny win the award as well as showing their support for the youngster for shining abroad.
Some miss him and want him back soon, while most were keen to point out that he’s an Evertonian deep down and he’s only in Germany temporarily.
It remains to be seen whether a spell in Germany can do as much for Kenny’s career as it’s done for Sancho, but he certainly looks to have got off to a good start.
You’re only borrowing him lads, calm down.
