Everton fans on Twitter keen to see the back of James Rodriguez

Everton fans are keen to see James Rodriguez leave.

The Colombian midfielder is reportedly in Qatar trying to seal a move away from Goodison Park.

The Everton midfield man’s time at the club looks to be all but over.

Despite an encouraging season under Carlo Ancelotti, it seems that Rodriguez has no interest in playing for the club anymore.

Rafa Benitez was appointed after Ancelotti jumped ship for Real Madrid and Rodriguez is yet to feature under the Spaniard.

The latest reports over the players future have come from a variety of sources.

Sky Sports broke the news live on air, whilst also tweeted of the player being in Qatar.

This news won’t have a massive impact on Everton’s on-pitch efforts.

The Toffees started the season well, with Demarai Gray making headlines with three goals already this season.

A 3-0 defeat at Villa Park was their most recent result, yet that can be put down as a blip given how many players were unavailable.

The fans will now just be hoping that they can focus on their football alone with Rodriguez almost out of the door.

This failed experiment is one that the fans will be desperate not to repeat.

Fortunately with Benitez in charge, a manager who prioritises the collective over the individual, it probably won’t be repeated.

We’ve already seen Benitez put his stamp on things at the club.

The signing of Salomon Rondon feels very Rafa, with the pair working well together at Newcastle at the past.

It’s now just about kicking on from the Colombian and focusing on trying to crack the Premier League’s European places.
