Everton fans on report they are considering new Sigurdsson deal

Everton are reportedly considering offering their star Gylfi Sigurdsson a new contract – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter have reacted extremely negatively to the speculation by insisting it would be the wrong decision.

, the Toffees are weighing up handing the attacking midfielder a fresh deal at Goodison Park.

The £100,000-a-week star () still has 18 months left on his current contract with the Merseyside club, but fresh terms may be handed out to him.

Sigurdsson has forced his way back into the Everton XI during the last month by rediscovering some of his best form, which has left him in the good books of manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Iceland international now has three goals and four assists in 19 games across all competitions this campaign.

Aged 31, he is now one of the more experienced members within the dressing room, but it appears like there are plenty of supporters who aren’t convinced by his consistency.

The creative playmaker has produced some spectacular individual moments since he joined the club three-and-a-half years ago for £45million () from Swansea City, but perhaps has not reached the heights that many expected from him when he signed.
