Everton fans furious with latest Fabian Delph injury update

Everton have confirmed that midfielder Fabian Delph remains sidelined through injury ahead of the Merseyside derby – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are raging with the update.

The Toffees travel to Anfield on Wednesday night to face bitter rivals Liverpool in the Premier League.

Marco Silva is a manager under-fire right now, with his team sat 17th in the table and really struggling for results.

Silva has confirmed () in his press conference that Delph is yet to return to training and is not ready to face Liverpool.

The 30-year-old has missed the last three consecutive matches through injury and will be unavailable against table toppers Liverpool too.

Everton are also without long-term absentees Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin, which leaves them desperately short of options in the centre of the park.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media are feeling like Delph’s signing in the summer was a mistake, after hearing the latest update on him.

He was signed in a deal worth £9million () and it seemed a great addition, as he’s won two Premier League titles and has 20 senior caps for England.

But the combative central midfielder has played has managed just 10 games across all competitions so far this season and has been prone to injuries throughout his career.
