Everton fans amazed by performance of Abdoulaye Doucoure against Tottenham

Everton recorded a stunning 5-4 victory over Tottenham on Wednesday night in the FA Cup – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter picked out their midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure as a real standout performer.

After a gruelling 90 minutes where the teams were locked together at 4-4, it took a goal from substitute Bernard in extra time to secure the win for Everton.

The Toffees were involved in a nine-goal thriller at Goodison Park in the FA Cup fifth round and have now progressed to the quarter-finals.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side are seventh in the Premier League table and pushing for a European finish, but supporters would surely love a piece of silverware this season.

Aside from match-winner Bernard, there were goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison (two) and Gylfi Sigurdsson for the Merseyside giants.

They host Fulham on Sunday in their next match in the league and there will be some tired leagues after 120 minutes for some players.

A selection of Everton supporters on social media believe that Doucoure was a colossus in their midfield, with one even comparing him to football great Clarence Seedorf.

The 28-year-old central midfielder was full of non-stop running during the entire contest, as he helped out defensively and tried to drive forward on the ball as well.
