Report: Everton could now sell their ‘magnificent’ £70k-a-week player before January

Everton could be about to save some money on the wage bill with reports suggesting that midfielder, Allan, could be on his way out this week.

The Brazilian midfielder has dropped well down the pecking order under Frank Lampard and reports that there is interest from the Middles East, with both teams in Qatar and the UAE keen. It’s claimed Salomon Rondon is also of interest in those leagues, with Everton open to the sales.

Allan was initially a but he has struggled to live up to the reputation he had in Naples. He has produced the odd good performance and was labelled as ‘magnificent‘ by Alan Shearer. However, reports emerged in the summer to suggest Allan could go for around £10m and it doesn’t look like the Toffees have altered that stance.

Frank Lampard is trying to put his own stance on proceedings at Everton and made moves this summer to strengthen his squad. Amadou Onana was the big signing in midfield, while Dwight McNeil, Conor Coady, and James Tarkowski all arrived as well.

TBR’s View: Allan Needs To Leave Everton

Sometimes a player’s time simply comes to an end at a club and that looks to be the case with Allan and Everton here.

He’s done well enough in certain games and certainly can’t be regarded as a flop signing of the Toffees. But if Everton can move on his then there is no doubt it’s a move they should be pushing along.

Sometimes it’s just as important to move players on as it is to bring new ones in and with Allan, it appears the time has simply come for him to find pastures new. A move to the Middle East, then, is a good move for him overall.
