Carlo Ancelotti planning to speak with Andre Gomes ahead of Everton return
Everton midfielder Andre Gomes could make an astonishing return to action against Arsenal this weekend. Boss Carlo Ancelotti has told the , however, that a discussion will take place with the Portuguese star.
Gomes suffered a fracture-dislocation of his right ankle against Tottenham in November. On Monday, just three months after the horrific injury, he completed an hour for the Toffees in a behind closed doors friendly game.
The 26-year-old would complete an unbelievable recovery if he does play this weekend. Although Ancelotti feels that he is ready to play, he will still be holding talks with Gomes.

“My personal opinion is that he’s ready to play.
“When a player has been out for a long period, I think it is better to start the game.
“He can prepare properly, rather than to put him on from the bench.
“But I do have to speak to him and together we can find the best solution.”
Gomes cost Everton from Barcelona during the summer. He made eight appearances before his injury struck and featured 29 times for the Toffees during a loan spell last season.
The midfielder is certainly one of Everton’s best options in the middle of the park. He is yet to play under Ancelotti and with the team doing well it’ll be interesting to see what he can add.

Gomes has 29 caps for his country and if he can play himself back into form, he could still head to Euro 2020 with Portugal in the summer.
After a woeful start to 2019/20 under Marco Silva, Everton are now looking up the table. If their midfield maestro can hit the ground running, the Toffees could start dreaming of European football next season.
