Barcelona legend Carles Puyol offers well wishes to Everton defender Yerry Mina
Former Barcelona defender Carlos Puyol has wished Yerry Mina luck at Everton,
Mina arrived at Goodison Park from Barca following the World Cup last summer.
The Colombian central defender has not had a great first season in the top flight but did play well in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Chelsea.

Mina signed from the Catalan giants for £27 million, and signed a contract worth .
After failing to establish himself in Spain, he was sold to Everton during the summer.
A series of foot injuries have hampered his start to life in the Premier League, restricting him to just 14 appearances.
Puyol, however, doesn’t believe his time at Barcelona should be held against him.
“Succeeding at Barcelona isn’t easy. It’s not easy to go there and adapt.
“You have to have time and you have players like Pique and Umtiti in front of you.”
Puyol played 593 times for Barcelona winning every club honour during his time as a player.
He does, however, have some kind words for Mina now he has moved on from Spain.
: “I wish Mina good luck. Things like that happen and it’s not as always easy as a player.”
TBR Verdict
Puyol has been there, done that and got the t-shirt when it comes to playing football.
The serial trophy winner clearly seems to rate Mina as a defender but seems to subtly concede that he wasn’t quite good enough for the club.

Barcelona’s loss is Everton’s gain, however, and the task for boss Marco Silva is to get him out on the pitch.
Sunday’s win over Chelsea needs to be just the start for Mina.
The 24-year-old must now kick on and show the Everton faithful that he can become part of the team for years to come.
