Everton ahead of Newcastle in race to sign ‘exceptional’ £25m forward this summer
EXCLUSIVE from Graeme Bailey
As the transfer window begins to finally heat up, Everton are said to be ahead of Newcastle United in pursuit of one attacking talent.
Amid talk that Sean Dyche could still lose Dominic Calvert-Lewin this summer, it’s no surprise that Everton could be seeking to sign a new forward to partner Iliman Ndiaye.
Similarly, Newcastle want to add a right-winger who is capable of completing Eddie Howe’s front three.
Miguel Almiron’s form declined as the season went on and Howe is still looking for the perfect profile to compliment both Anthony Gordon and Alexander Isak.
That being said, TBR Football can now confirm that Everton are leading the chase ahead of Newcastle in order to sign Leeds United forward Wilfried Gnonto.

ꦉTBR understands that Gnonto has now made it clear to Leeds that he wants to leave the club this summer and move back to the Premier League.
ꦿGnonto had been close to agreeing a new deal at Elland Road, but the Daniel Farke’s failure to win promotion back to the top flight saw talks stall.
Everton now back in talks with Leeds over deal for Wilfried Gnonto
TBR understands that there is also interest from the Serie A in Gnonto, with Cesc Fabregas keen to take the ‘exceptional’ forward to newly-promoted Como.
🎃And in addition, Jose Mourinho’s former side Roma are also keeping tabs on the 20-year-old.
But ultimately interest from the Premier League in Gnonto is strong with long-term admirers Everton leading the way – who have a good relationship with Leeds after their dealings over Jack Harrison in the last 12-months.
Alongside Everton, West Ham United, Newcastle🌼, Leicester City, Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest are also interested in a deal.
🐓And having already allowed Archie Gray to leave the club this summer, Leeds are ready to sanction Gnonto’s exit too, whilst Glen Kamara’s move to Rennes is also almost finalised.
For a long while, ⭕Gnonto is thought to have had a price tag of around £25m💮, who scored eight goals in his 36 Championship appearances last season.
༒It seems fairly obvious to imagine why Dyche would love to sign a winger like Gnonto, someone who works so diligently in a defensive regard.
And along with a move for Gnonto, it seems 🅰Everton are targeting a midfield signing with their Amadou Onana money.
