‘Even Big Sam is trolling us’: Some Arsenal fans react to what Allardyce has said about Gunners

A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Sam Allardyce’s recent comments about the Gunners.

The Gunners are in dire straits at present, having lost eight of their 14 Premier League games so far and struggling near the bottom of the table.

Arsenal haven’t won a league game since 1 November, when they ran out 1-0 winners at Manchester United.

Since then, Mikel Arteta’s beleaguered charges have lost to Aston Villa, Wolves, Spurs, Burnley and Everton, and drawn with Leeds and Southampton in the league.

On Tuesday night, Arsenal were put to the sword by Manchester City in the League Cup quarter-finals, Pep Guardiola’s charges running out 4-1 winners at the Emirates Stadium.

The North Londoners are currently 15th in the Premier League table, just four points clear of the bottom three, and at present they’re struggling to create chances, never mind win games.

BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone asked Allardyce – who has recently taken over at West Bromwich Albion – at his press conference whether Arsenal were rivals at the bottom of the table.

“Absolutely,” he replied. “They haven’t won a Premier League game for almost double figures.

“Getting beaten last night, even though not in the Premier League, drains confidence of Arsenal’s players. They will be wondering what has hit them.”
