‘Even better watching’: Tyler Morton says he just loves seeing 19-year-old Liverpool youngster play

Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton has he loves watching teammate Harvey Elliott play.

The pair were both involved in England’s under-21 squad this week.

The future of English football looks in good hands, after the under-21s beat Germany 3-1 yesterday.

Goals from Folarin Balogun, Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer secured the win for Lee Carsley’s side.

Elliott started the match in midfield and played 70 minutes before being replaced by Angel Gomes.

The Liverpool midfielder should have had an assist, with Everton’s James Garner heading his corner onto the crossbar.

The 19-year-old has played been an important role for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.

Liverpool have had to deal with several injuries in midfield this season, forcing Elliott to step up.

He’s done a fantastic job of that so far, and hasn’t looked out of place in the Premier League or Champions League.

Morton loves watching Elliott play

Morton shared a photo of the pair together on Instagram after the match.

“Always a good experience, even better watching this man.”

“Love is an understatement! Brother right there.”

Morton and Elliott will know each other well from their time at Anfield.

Surprisingly, they’ve only been on the pitch together five times in their career.

The only senior game they’ve played together was against Norwich in last season’s FA Cup.

Morton has now joined Blackburn Rovers on loan in the Championship.

It’s a move that Elliott made in 2020 and it gave him valuable first-team experience.

Elliott scored seven goals and provided 11 assists that season, although Morton may struggle to match that in his deeper role.

Morton may love watching Elliott play, but this season, he’ll have to do it from afar as he concentrates on his performances at Ewood Park.
