European club now in discussions to sign ‘incredible’ £50m Arsenal player after Lokonga exit confirmed
While Arsenal fans want to see new signings arrive this summer, it looks like the club are taking steps to ensure they bring some money in as well.
The last few summers have seen heavy spending from Arsenal with little in the way of returns.
However, that looks set to change this summer after the club already confirmed a deal to see Sambi Lokonga move on, while more could follow.
Players like Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson are expected to attract interest and could be sold to bring in funds.
But as well as Smith Rowe and Nelson, another homegrown talent could also be sold and according to reports, the Gunners are in discussions over this very deal.
Marseille continuing discussions with Arsenal over Eddie Nketiah
According to Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, Marseille are pushing to sign Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah.
to provide the update earlier today, which mainly focussed on interest in Hwang Hee-Chan from the Ligue 1 side, Aouna mentioned Marseille’s interest in Nketiah.

In his tweet, he claimed that discussions are ongoing over Nketiah, as the French side weigh up their options in attack.
Marseille are in the market for a new forward after allowing Iliman Ndiaye to move to Everton, while experienced former Arsenal striker, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, could be on his way to Saudi Arabia.
Nketiah, of course, is very much a back up option at Arsenal and it’s long been mooted that he moves on permanently to really kickstart his career.
One potential problem for Marseille could be the £50m asking price Arsenal have previously put on Nketiah’s head.
Quite whether Arsenal would still demand that, remains to be seen.
But Edu is determined to get good money for his players if he does sell, especially homegrown ones.
Nketiah, then, could well be on his way as Arsenal finally move on from him in 2024.
