Ethan Ampadu could be perfect replacement for Axel Tuanzebe at Aston Villa
Aston Villa are reportedly set to make a move for Chelsea defender Ethan Ampadu this summer. , the Welsh international is wanted on loan at Villa Park next season.
Former Chelsea player John Terry knows Ampadu and the Aston Villa number two is hoping they can secure a loan switch for the teenager’s services.
Ampadu played more games for Wales than he did Chelsea last season. With that in mind, the next Chelsea boss after Maurizio Sarri may want Ampadu get regular first-team elsewhere.
For Aston Villa, it could be a great deal, as Ampadu would be a perfect replacement for Axel Tuanzebe.
The Manchester United loanee was a regular for Aston Villa last season, playing at both right-back and centre-back. If called upon, the DR Congo-born talent could have also played in holding midfield. Tuanzebe eventually played 30 times for the club and, , is set to get a chance at Old Trafford next season.
Ampadu is equally adaptable and Aston Villa could slot the teenager straight into a similar role as Tuanzebe.
Whilst Aston Villa are catching the eye with their big money bids and deals, they still need to add cheaper options throughout the squad to stay in the Premier League next term.
Ampadu could be one of those additions.
