Virgil van Dijk’s future remains uncertain despite helping keep the Reds’ clean sheet record intact in the first few games, while Trent Alexander-Arnold has apparently started to look at potential options.
But, it’s Mohamed Salah‘s contract situation that’s been on the minds of most Liverpool fans after his electric start to the season. The Egyptian already has three goals and three assists to his name.
Cesc Fabregas believes that Salah feels as if this is his last year in the Liverpool fold.
And, Steve Nicol thinks he’s spotted a hint from one of the three Liverpool men that suggests they may just sign a new deal…
ESPN pundit claims he’s seen hint that Liverpool player wants to sign a new deal
Of course, many pundits and fans up and down the country have been reacting to Mohamed Salah’s comments after the 3-0 win over Manchester United on Sunday.
It’s not unusual for a player to come out and speak about their future at a club, but the way that Salah conducted himself live on Sky Sports raised a few eyebrows.
Interestingly, thinks he’s spotted a hint from Mohamed Salah to suggest he’s staying.
Speaking on the ESPN FC YouTube channel, he said.
“I’m not sure I’ll go along with the sour note to be honest with you. I actually came away from that thinking that there may be an interest that he wants to stay. That’s what I got out of it.
“Yes he said that it could have been but that was only because somebody said that this could be. We absolutely have no idea what they’re planning.
“You know you’ve got him, you’ve got Van Dijk, you’ve got Trent. They’re all kind of saying the same thing. But none of them look disgruntled to me.
“I mean Mo Salah, there was nothing disgruntle about what he was saying, he had a smile on his face the whole time, he didn’t seem as though he was disappointed.
“He didn’t seem as though he was upset. I really, I was quite interested after he finished because I got the impression that he certainly wasn’t saying I’m off. The way I took it I thought it was quite good, I thought he might stay.
“Up until he spoke, anybody who asked me previously I would’ve said he’s off at the end of the season. Having listened to him, I’m not thinking that way I’m thinking maybe there’s a possibility”.

How important is Mohamed Salah to Liverpool?
Most Liverpool fans will remember when Salah buried a second-minute penalty to send the Reds on their way to a sixth triumph in the Champions League.
And, in 2021-2022, a year in which Liverpool came close to an unprecedented quadruple, he played a huge part, netting 31 goals from 51 appearances in all competitions.
He’s scored a whopping 214 goals and has provided 94 assists for his teammates during his time at Liverpool, which has seen him rise to third on the club’s all-time top scorers list.
Now, the difficult decision that Liverpool have to make is whether they want to offer him a new lucrative deal at the age of 32, with the club’s approach in recent years being younger players.
Indeed, Liverpool were close to signing Anthony Gordon, so that gives everyone a taste of their thinking moving forward.
