ESPN pundit says so many have forgotten just how good £21.5m Tottenham player is
Janusz Michallik has suggested that many completely forgot about Rodrigo Bentancur during his time on the sidelines as he lauded the Tottenham Hotspur midfielder.
Rodrigo Bentancur handed Spurs a massive boost ahead of their clash with Bournemouth this past weekend. The Uruguayan had been out since late November after finding himself on the receiving end of a nasty challenge from Matty Cash.
It was feared that Bentancur would be out until mid-February. But he made a surprise return on Sunday for the win over Bournemouth.

Many have forgotten just how good Tottenham midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is
And speaking to , Janusz Michallik believes that many are about to be reminded of just how important Bentancur is for Tottenham following his latest return.
“Look at Richarlison as of late. Look at what he does. Kulusevski, incredible. Look what he’s done with Lo Celso. I mean, I really a few weeks back forgot about Lo Celso,” he said.
“You know how I feel about Bentancur. Many fans in England forgot who he is and how he plays, but he’s absolutely outstanding.”
Uruguayan could be so important during the second-half of the season
Bentancur made only 10 appearances for Tottenham in 2023. He sustained a serious injury against Leicester in February. And obviously, his return from that injury was cut short during the loss to Aston Villa.
The midfielder was one of the only positives for Tottenham last season. Bentancur finished as Spurs’ third highest goalscorer in the Premier League despite not playing after February.
And given that he was facing two lengthy spells on the sidelines in the last 12 months, there probably were some fans who did forget about Bentancur.
Ange Postecoglou will be wary of asking too much of the 26-year-old too soon considering how much time he has spent out of the side.
But if Tottenham can get Bentancur back to his best in the near future, they have such an amazing player up their sleeve who can make a massive impact in the second-half of the season.
