ESPN pundit says it’s like £40m Newcastle ace’s ‘twin brother’ is playing after poor display vs Fulham
Newcastle United finally got found out against Fulham at the weekend after an unbeaten start to the Premier League season up until that point.
Eddie Howe had a big job on his hands to pick his players up after defeat against Fulham as they looked completely deflated on the pitch at Craven Cottage.
Alexander Isak made the cut despite injuring his toe against Wolves but he wasn’t really able to impose himself on the game.
A Nick Pope error for Emile Smith Rowe’s goal certainly won’t have pleased Howe and the fact that Newcastle allowed 22 shots on their goal.
Things aren’t about to get any easier for the Magpies as they’re set to welcome Manchester City to St James’ Park this weekend.
Interestingly, ESPN pundit Julien Laurens was far from impressed with one Newcastle player in particular against Fulham.

Julien Laurens far from impressed with Bruno Guimaraes
Bruno Guimaraes was one of the standout performers last season for Newcastle, which even saw Bruno attract interest from Arsenal in the summer.
However, so far this season, things just haven’t worked out for the Brazilian.
His performance against Fulham was questioned by ESPN pundit Julien Laurens.
When speaking on the ESPN UK YouTube channel, Laurens stated that it was as if Bruno Guimaraes’ twin brother was playing instead of him.
“Bruno Guimaraes, what’s happening to him? Is it like his twin brother or something, he’s just not there.”
Bruno Guimaraes’ performance in numbers vs Fulham
Joelinton recently described Bruno Guimaraes as an ‘incredible’ player and stated that he’s someone who the fans love at St James’ Park.
However, some fans are starting to become a bit concerned about the drop off in level this season from Guimaraes, who joined for around £40 million.
Laurens considered his performance against Fulham another disappointing one, but his stats tell a different story. He had 96 touches and 89% passing accuracy, completed both of his dribbles, won eight of his 12 duels, was fouled three times, made three interceptions, and two tackles.
However, he did make one error which led to a goal.
