ESPN pundit claims Tottenham had the ‘best two players on the pitch’ vs Manchester United yesterday
Don Hutchison has named the two Tottenham Hotspur stars he felt were the best players on the pitch against Manchester United on Sunday, with one seemingly covering every single blade of grass inside Old Trafford.
Tottenham were extremely impressive as they played out a 2-2 draw. The visitors twice came from behind to take a point back with them to North London.
Ange Postecoglou’s side were missing a number of key men, including Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma. That presented an opportunity to the likes of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Oliver Skipp. Meanwhile, Rodrigo Bentancur continues his comeback after a couple of lengthy injury lay-offs.
Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Rodrigo Bentancur lauded after Tottenham draw
Hojbjerg has divided opinion for much of his Tottenham career. And he does not appear to suit Postecoglou’s preferred style of play as much as some of his teammates. But Hojbjerg was quietly excellent against Manchester United.

And Bentancur scored that crucial second goal at the start of the second-half.
Speaking on , Don Hutchison suggested that he was hugely impressed by both of the Spurs midfielders.
“Best two players on the pitch were Bentancur and Hojbjerg, I think they dominated. I thought Bentancur showed his quality. When you looked at the work Hojbjerg did, he covered every blade, he was all over the place,” he said.
Spurs thriving despite still awaiting return of several key men
Hojbjerg is unlikely to be a player who grabs many of the headlines. But he is fairly reliable, which is important given how much quality Tottenham do have in attack.
And Bentancur is one of those who provides that quality. He has now scored six goals in his last 19 Premier League appearances. There are some strikers in the top-flight who would be very happy with that return.
Certainly, if they can keep him fit for the remainder of the season, Tottenham have an amazing chance of achieving something special this term.
