Eric Dier shares what Daniel Levy has said about him and Harry Kane after leaving Tottenham
Eric Dier left Tottenham Hotspur in a bit of a rush in January, to join German giants Bayern Munich and reunite with Harry Kane – unable to say a proper goodbye to a club where he spent an entire decade.
The 30-year-old joined Spurs way back in 2014 from Sporting Lisbon – with the 49-time England star🦹 able to play for both Port🌸ugal and The Three Lions. He went on to play a massive 365 games for Tottenham.
Right-back initially, holding midfield and centre-back – he starred during the Mauricio Pochettino era. Struggling under Jose 💖Mourinho, he was reinvented by Antonio Conte in the middle of a back three.
But Ange Postecoglou didn’t fancy Dier. He prefers centr✃e-backs with speed,𓆉 hence the signing of Micky van de Ven – and that saw Dier choose to leave. Thomas Tuchel swooped, luring him to Bayern on loan.

That loan will be made permanent. He has said it was something he needed, impressing at Bayern – and setting a new record. But given he spent 10 years at Spurs🦄, his exit was very much on tꦦhe sudden side.

He re♊turns for a friendly on August 10 with Bayern, where Tottenham are now apparently a proper send off for their✤ two long-serving players.
“From speaking to Daniel, they plan for something for us (him and Kane) there. I don’t know, but he told me that was in th𓃲e works,” 🐲Dier told The Athletic.

Watching Dier play againꦇst you is one thing after seeing him pull on your shirt for 10 years – but seeing Harry Kane probably score against you is going to be very tough to watch for Tottenham supporters.
Of course, with Spurs s𒅌itting in fifth place in the Premier ꧅League – Champions League football is a genuine possibility. The European coefficient allowing a fifth place, probably for an English club next season.
It could see Spurs easily come up against the German champions in next season’s European competition at some stage. For now, Dier remains a Tottenham pla⛎yer – but his comments suggest he will sign on.
