‘Absolutely brilliant’: BBC pundit mesmerised by ‘unbelievable’ player Liverpool want to sign at the World Cup today

Chris Sutton has been loving what he saw from and Manchester United target, Enzo Fernandez, who scored for Argentina tonight.

Fernandez curled a stunning effort into the top corner after Lionel Messi had set Argentina on their way to a big win over Mexico in Qatar tonight.

Of course, Fernandez is a wanted man. Both are thought to be keen on the Benfica man, who is set to command a fee of more than £40m if he is to move.

And speaking on comms for the , former Blackburn striker Sutton was mesmerised by Fernandez’s goal.

“That is absolutely brilliant. What a finish into the far top corner, right-footed – on a postage stamp. Unbelievable finish,” Sutton wrote for the .

“That’s game, set and match. Fantastic, Fernandez. We’re right behind it and he drives inside the left of the box, gets his head up and arrows the ball in. Lovely stepover. It’s beautiful – no chance for the goalkeeper, it’s wide of him with the bend on the ball. Fernandez is on the money.”

Certainly, that goal from Fernandez will have whet the appetite of onlooking Liverpool and United fans.

TBR’s View: Fernandez shows what Liverpool can have

Sure, it was just one big moment but it was a big moment in a massive game when his team needed him.

Enzo Fernandez produced the goods when Argentina needed it and while Messi will get the headlines, the finish from Fernandez here was nothing short of superb.

Should Liverpool make a move here, then Reds fans will be happy. They’ve seen something impressive tonight and that goal is surely just a small hint of his potential. All eyes will be on Argentina’s next game now. If Fernandez can do it again, then Liverpool might well be tempted come January.
