Some Arsenal fans think one player is ‘done and dusted’ at the club after today’s FA Cup loss
A number of Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to criticise Willian for yet another poor performance as the Gunners were knocked out of the FA Cup.
The 32-year-old arrived at the Emirates Stadium to much fanfare in the summer, signing a three-year deal reportedly worth £220,000-a-week after leaving Chelsea on a free transfer.
Willian hit the ground running in his first competitive game for Arsenal, registering two assists and putting in a man-of-the-match display in the Premier League opener at Fulham.

However, most of his performances since that game have been average at best and downright poor at worst, struggling to justify the Gunners’ outlay on him.
Willian has very much fallen down the pecking order at Arsenal, with just two substitute appearances in the Gunners’ last five Premier League games.
On Saturday, the Gunners travelled to Southampton for an FA Cup fourth-round clash, the first of two meetings between the two sides at the same ground in the space of a few days.
Willian was given the nod at No. 10 but sadly he was anonymous on the pitch once again.
Indeed, Arsenal were hardly able to go down the middle due to his inability to drop into spaces and, as a result, struggled to create chances.
This cost the Gunners dearly as there was only one goal in it in the end, Kyle Walker-Peters’ drilled cross coming off Gabriel Magalhaes for an own goal.
While most of Arsenal’s players underperformed on the day, a lot of fans are especially running out of patience with Willian, who continues to struggle.
Here is what some said on social media:
This persistence with Willian should end now. Enough is enough. Just admit we made a mistake, cut our losses, and move on.

A big costly mistake. The damage hurts because it’s not the 200K he takes home every week, but rather the fact that we are virtually down to 10 men every time he starts. Not surprisingly we end up loosing these games. Edu & need to own up and stop this Willian drama now

Yep. I wouldn’t even hold it against Arteta. Nobody thought he’d be this bad. Just drop him and work with players that have something to play for.

I’d rather Willock to play, albeit he hasn’t been great recently either, but at least he’s young and the fans can get behind him. How can fans continue to get behind Willian getting picked? It’s getting silly at this stage

Absolutely totally agree shocking in every game apart from the first! I honestly believe Pepe will come good but Willian let’s us down every time!

Sharp. We made a huge mistake signing him. The early Arteta realises that the better
