‘Encouraging signs’: 23-year-old Celtic player is back training, he could play vs Shakhtar – Sky journalist
Celtic midfielder David Turnbull is back in training ahead of his side’s Champions League tie against Shakhtar Donetsk.
The Scottish international has been unavailable for the last three Scottish Premiership matches due to an ankle knock.
“The closest is Jota and Turnbull in terms of returning.
“They have been going good in rehab, but there is no point rushing them back.”

It now appears as though Turnbull could be set for a return after joining his teammates in training.
The central midfielder has come off the bench in all-but-one of Celtic’s Champions League matches this season.
Typically involved in play further up the field, Turnbull has only scored once this season, compared to his previous tallies of eight and six in a Celtic shirt.
, Turnbull has established himself as an important member of Postecoglou’s squad.
Turnbull back in Celtic training
“In terms of team news, there were some encouraging signs out on the training field here.
“David Turnbull’s been absent in recent weeks, he is back amongst the group this morning.
“Ange (Postecoglou) said on Friday he had a chance of potentially being involved this midweek.
“The fact he’s out this morning is encouraging on that front.”
Celtic need two big results in their final Champions League group stage matches to avoid crashing out of Europe altogether.
The tie is likely to come too soon for Jota, who was described as being better than Vinicius Jr. by Gordon Strachan.

Celtic will at least be glad that Postecoglou is still at Parkhead, after previous reports linking him with the Wolves job.
Turnbull has an eye for goal, something that’s been desperately missing from Celtic’s play in the Champions League.
Celtic fans will be hoping that now he’s back involved in training, he can potentially come off the bench and make the difference against Shakhtar tomorrow.
