‘A few minutes ago’: Fabrizio Romano has some exciting Friday night transfer news for Nottingham Forest fans

Nottingham Forest appear closer than ever to signing Emmanuel Dennis from Watford, after the striker completed a medical this evening.

That’s according to Fabrizio Romano anyway, who has taken to just 15 minutes ago to say that Dennis to Forest is all but completed now. The striker will sign a four-year deal at the City Ground, leaving Watford after they were relegated back to the Championship.

For Forest, it is yet another impressive looking signing in what has been a summer of huge spending and a complete squad overhaul. Steve Cooper needed a number of positions filling and he’s certainly been backed to the hilt by the Forest board this summer.

Dennis will sign for around the £20m mark and will bring pace, power, and proven goals at PL level. He scored ten times last season, despite Watford’s struggles.

Forest are unlikely to be done with their spending just yet either. In what has been an explosive summer from the Reds board, Dennis will be one of a few other new players to arrive before August ends. The Reds have made splashes in the market, including the high profile signing of Jesse Lingard.

TBR’s View: Dennis To Forest Can Help Cooper

Premier League teams need someone who can score goals and if Emmanuel Dennis can get the same amount for Forest as he did Watford, then Cooper is onto a winner.

There has been question marks about Dennis’ attitude in the past but he should be fine under the guidance of Cooper and if he starts well, Forest fans will take to him.

Of course, there is risk here for Forest with the money being spent. But if Dennis fires in the goals to keep them up, then it won’t really matter come May 2023.
