Emile Smith Rowe’s comments in 2020 about his Arsenal future are now very hard to read
In the last 24 hours it’s become very apparent that Emile Smith Rowe will be leaving Arsenal to sign for London rivals Fulham.
Smith Rowe was always touted as someone who Mikel Arteta might be tempted to part ways ꦏwith this summer given his diminished role.
But given thaℱt both Fulham and Crystal Palace had bids rejected for the 23-year-old, therꦬe was some thought that he might still stay.
However, it’s been reliably shared that Smith Rowe will leave Arsenal for Fulham, and Arteta didn’ဣt hide that fact when speaking after the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth.
When asked about Smith Rowe, Arte🌳ta said: “There are things happening in the background at the moment & we decided the best thing to do was keep him away from the game.”

An honest rꦰesponse from the Arsenal manager, who clearly feels no need to hide the business which is seemingly now quite advanced.
Of course, it wasꦆ Arteta who handed Smith Rowe the number 10 shirt in 2021 when Mesut Ozil left, a signal of how much faith the Spaniard ha🥃d in the Hale-Ender.
Emile Smith Rowe wanted to become a one-club player for Arsenal
It was recently made clear that Arteta was still a ‘huge fan’ of Smith Rowe, and 🤡there were players he would rather sell f🦩irst.
However, he likely also recog𓂃nised t🌱hat the England international’s current role is inhibiting his progress.
That being said, when considering that Smith Rowe is now on the verge of leaving Arsenal for Fulham, some comments he made back in October 2020 about his long-term future in north👍 London will now be hard to read for some Gunners.
Smith Rowe said that he could see himself becoming a one-club man at Arsenal, willing to play forಌ the club he supports ♉for the rest of his life.
He said: “As an Arsenal fan, it would be a dream to bꩲecome an Arsenal legend. I want to win t💦rophies with the team.
“I c🌺ould see myself being a one-club man if everything works out.”

Who knows, maybe Smith Rowe could return to the Emirates one day once he’🌼s revived his career at Fulham, but that’s probably a pipe dream.
The end of an era for much-loved Hale End graduate, and the famous ‘Saka an🌞d Emile Smith Rowe’ chant will neꦫver quite be the same.
