‘A fantastic player’: Liverpool urged to sign £40m Euro 2020 star
Former Liverpool striker, Emile Heskey, has said that ‘fantastic’ Leicester City midfielder, Youri Tielemans, would be a fine signing for the club.
Tielemans is currently away with Belgium in the Euros and has helped his country to two wins from their opening games. The Leicester star is seen as integral at both club and country.
The midfielder moved to the Foxes in a in the summer of 2019. Since then, he’s gone from strength to strength. Indeed, it was his winning goal that sealed the FA Cup for Leicester.

As reported on TBR recently, the Reds are said to hold a keen interest in bringing Tielemans into the club. However, the Foxes will demand around £70m.
Liverpool do need someone to replace Gini Wijnaldum. However, whether they’ll push the boat out to that sort of fee, remains to be seen.
What Emile Heskey had to say about Liverpool and Tielemans
Heskey enjoyed a good spell with Liverpool in the early to mid 2000s. His partnership with Michael Owen was successful, both for the Reds and England.
And speaking to yesterday, Heskey believes Tielemans would slot in nicely at Liverpool, albeit, if he is a tad expensive.
“Tielemans is a fantastic player. Tielemans is the kind of player that would suit any midfield and any team,” Heskey .
“He excites you because he does the simple things very, very well – the simple passes from here to there and you look at them and think ‘that was crisp, that was nice’.
“That slide pass that sometimes gets cut out doesn’t with Tielemans. Because he is so crisp with his passing. He would fit into any team. I think he would suit the way that Liverpool play, but you would have to prise him from Leicester.”
Tielemans, then, would seem to be welcomed at Anfield by fans and former players alike. If a move does come off, then it will be quite the statement signing from the Reds.
