Emerson Royal applauds £10m Tottenham teammate on Instagram after display against Bournemouth

Emerson Royal has applauded Ben Davies on social media after the Welshman’s display for Tottenham Hotspur in their win over Bournemouth on Sunday.

With Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero currently sidelined, Emerson Royal and Ben Davies kept their place at centre-back against the Cherries.

Of course, with Brighton putting four past Tottenham in midweek, some Spurs fans may have had their concerns ahead of a clash with a Bournemouth side who have been flying lately.

Emerson Royal played a fantastic pass in the build-up to the third Tottenham goal. But he has been keen to praise his centre-back partner following his display on Sunday.

January looks vital for Spurs

Of course, Tottenham will hope that they do not need to pair Emerson and Davies for much longer. Romero and van de Ven were exceptional together in the early stages of the season as Spurs set the pace in the Premier League.

They also appear to be looking towards the transfer market for potential options. Tottenham are interested in Radu Dragusin. Meanwhile, Jean-Clair Todibo is also on the Spurs radar. Certainly, it appears to be imperative that Spurs strengthen in the window.

But Davies rarely lets Tottenham down whenever he comes into the side. Postecoglou was full of praise for Davies’ performance in the recent win at Nottingham Forest. He also made a remarkable clearance in the win over Newcastle last month.

And if he continues to keep his place in the next few games, it would not be a surprise if the 30-year-old continued to do well.
