Eddie Howe could start ‘magnificent’ 20-year-old for Newcastle at Dortmund

Newcastle United will hope to maintain their outstanding form when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Eddie Howe’s Magpies have won their last two and remain unbeaten in their last three in all competitions.

Newcastle will also want to make amends for their loss to Dortmund last time out and get their Champions League campaign back on track.

Some changes we’re likely to see from the Magpies involve the full-back positions.

Kieran Trippier played there at the weekend, but switched to left-back after Dan Burn had to come off with a back injury.

The England international has played at left-back at international level, so he could well return there for Newcastle against Dortmund.

As for the right-back position, Tino Livramento is likely to come in from the off, in wake of his superb display for the Magpies in recent weeks.

Prior to the Carabao Cup win over Manchester City, the Newcastle summer signing had made just two Premier League outings off the bench, for a total of 24 minutes.

Livramento didn’t disappoint in the slightest, keeping £100million star Jack Grealish quiet and making an excellent stop against Matheus Nunes late on.

Newcastle ace Livramento is a ‘very good player’

Newcastle legend Alan Shearer went on to describe the 20-year-old as “magnificent” on  at full time following the 1-0 win over the treble winners.

Since then, Livramento has kicked on, with another Magpies hero – Chris Waddle – lauding him. Waddle called him a “very good player” in the win over Arsenal.

Newcastle have found their feet after a tricky start to the season and will now fancy their chances of progressing in all competitions.

They have a solid team and, in Livramento, they have an exciting player with bags of potential.

To think he’s just 20 years of age, who knows how good he’ll be by the time he’s in his mid to late twenties.

Livramento certainly has the qualities to give Dortmund a tough time, so let’s hope he gets the chance to impress from the off once again.
