Duncan Ferguson praises Everton captain Seamus Coleman for playing through pain
Caretaker Everton manager Duncan Ferguson hailed his captain Seamus Coleman for playing through the pain barrier for the club.
On Ferguson raved over Coleman’s commitment to the cause after he made his 300th appearance for the club against Manchester United on Sunday.
He : “I look to him as well, he has that much experience and we can all learn from him. We all look to Seamus to set the best example. Seamus Coleman makes me a better Evertonian. He is incredible for the football club. He has been taking injections to try to play and is always trying to make himself available.
“He is a proper Evertonian. He is an incredible servant to the club and being such a great Evertonian, we need to make sure we harness that. I love Seamus and one of the reasons I love coming to work is to see guys like Seamus Coleman. Seamus is incredibly loyal and hard working. He has your back and that is the most important thing.”

Coleman’s performance level has been questioned in the past season and a half, with Djibril Sidibe impressing in his injury absence too.
But Ferguson’s comments underline his importance as a leader and whoever the next manager is will likely lean on Coleman and use his professionalism greatly.
