Duncan Castles says Tottenham have approached Gian Piero Gasperini
Tottenham are eyeing a move to make Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini the successor to Jose Mourinho, according to transfer guru
The 63-year-old incumbent has been with the Serie A outfit since 2016 and is on course to claim Champions League qualification this season.
Inter have blown the field away during 2020/21 but below them, it’s a close-run thing for a place in next season’s elite European competition.

Gasperini has overseen 234 games in charge of Atalanta. He has led the team to 124 wins, 59 draws with 51 games ending in defeat.
His win percentage of 52.99 would make him a decent appointment for Tottenham who will need to replace Mourinho in the summer.
Gasperini has won the Serie A Coach of the Year accolade for the past two seasons and might represent a coup for Spurs.
Castles has claimed that Tottenham have already made contact with the 63-year-old regarding the club’s vacancy in North London.
Furthermore, he claims that the reply was relatively positive from the former Inter and Genoa manager.
That could bode well for Tottenham who have seen several setbacks since Mourinho departed last month.
Julian Nagelsmann is joining Bayern Munich, Eric ten Hag has signed a new deal with Ajax and Jesse Marsch is also now out of the running.
TBR View: Gasperini would be a dream appointment
The Italian boss has done great things during his time at Atalanta and Spurs fans should love him at their club.

He has worked wonders with the Italian club’s younger players and that would bode well for Tottenham’s academy.
His all-action style of play would be in stark contrast to Mourinho’s bland strategy and if he gets it right, Tottenham could thrive.
Some of the linked bosses have been underwhelming and as a result, Spurs fans will hope Castles is right on this occasion.
