Everton target’s valuation will increase from £13m to £30m after Euro 2020 displays, warns journalist

Everton have been warned that a transfer for Denzel Dumfries could now cost the Blues €35m (£30m).

Speaking to , René van der Gijp claimed clubs that can afford the player will have to knock on the door.

However, the club is not the only team interested in the defender with now joining the race.

The news over his increased valuation comes after goals in the Netherlands’ opening two Euro 2020 fixtures. He was valued at €15m (£13m) just three days, prior to his second goal against Austria.

After more than a double increase in his transfer valuation, Everton now have a slim chance of signing Dumfries.

His performances at Euro 2020 have made him one of the tournament’s standout players.

And with continued high-level performances, he’s more likely to attract high-level clubs.

For example, the likes of Arsenal are in the market for a right-back this summer. There’s speculation over the future of Hector Bellerin, who could leave before the start of the season.

It means the Gunners are likely to be in the market for a right-sided player, a bill Dumfries fits.

After what has been a testing year, Everton need to be careful not to overpay for players.

It was revealed back in December 2020 that the club had made a loss of over thanks to the pandemic.

Funds will clearly be an issue for the Merseysiders as they look to strengthen. Therefore it makes the need for smart business far more crucial.

Circumstances may well have ruled the Goodison Park outfit out of the transfer race to sign Dumfries.

His ever-increasing value coupled with a potential rise in teams interested in him could see the club looking at other right-back targets this summer.
