Dream transfer target Matthijs De Ligt hails this Tottenham Hotspur trio
If Tottenham Hot♐spur a🐻re to make it into the Champions League final, they will need to get past Ajax and their sensational young captain Matthijs De Ligt. The player has beenabout the game and had some interౠesting comments about several of the current Tottenham crop.
“(Jan) Vertonghen was really a great example for me. That collaboration with (Toby) Alderweireld was of course fantastic. If you see where they are playing now, knowing that they have played together here, I think that Ajax is very proud that such a duo has been there. I still admire the pair very much.
“I remember (Davinson Sanchez) coming in here and I thought the first training session, ‘he must adapt’. But after the first game he really became a beast. What he has achieved that year is of course really fantastic. I think he is a very good defender and I think he also shows that at Tottenham.”
𒆙Clearlꦕy, the trio of former Ajax defenders have influenced De Ligt in some way or another.
Tottenham’s links with Ajax have bee♔n discussed ahead of the game, with Christian Eriksen joining Alderweireld, Vertonghen and Sanchez as former Ajax alumni now at Spurs.
Indeed, those links once had som♏e fans hopi🗹ng Tottenham were capable of bringing in De Ligt as a potential future superstar.
Unfortunately, that looks unlikely. Tottenham have no intention of pursuing a deal for the pl꧋ayer because of Ajax’s as🌃tronomical £69 million asking price.
That sort of𓂃 fee is affordable to the likes of Bayern Munich, Juventus, Barcelona, and many others who have cast envious eyes on the teenager. Tottenham, however, accept he is now out of their price range.
Which is a shame. Becausꦦe based on his clear respect for this Spurs trio, he might have been tempted.
