‘Down there’: BBC commentator spotted what David Moyes was doing after Ward-Prowse’s goal vs Tottenham
West Ham United were brilliant against Tottenham on Thursday evening.
The Hammers showed a huge amount of resilience to come back from 1-0 down to win 2-1 in the second-half, and, as you can imagine, David Moyes was buzzing with his side’s performance.
James Ward-Prowse put the Hammers into the lead late in the game, and speaking on (7/12/23 9:46PM), Jonathan Pearce noted from the press box how Moyes reacted to this strike.
Pearce noted that Moyes looked absolutely over the mood with the winning goal, stating that the Scot was bearing a huge grin on the touchline after taking the lead against West Ham’s big rivals.

Moyes was grinning after West Ham’s goal
Pearce noted how happy Moyes looked after Ward-Prowse scored.
“Spurs have dropped 13 points from winning position this season, only Burnley have dropped more, and from a position of dominance, no wonder David Moyes is now grinning like a Cheshire cat down there because his side are now leading with just 15 minutes to go,” Pearce said.
Every right to be buzzing
David Moyes was absolutely over the moon after his side’s winning goal, and, he had every right to be.
The Hammers put in a really hearty performance against Spurs away from home, and this is exactly the type of showing Moyes always wants to see from his teams.
Moyes always wants hard-work, determination and drive from his sides, particularly away from home, and that’s exactly what he got against Tottenham.
It wasn’t a classic footballing performance, but it was a classic Moyes performance, and we can only imagine how happy the Scot was with his team’s effort levels and the result against Tottenham.
Any win against Spurs is always sweet for West Ham, but this victory against Ange Postecoglou’s much-lauded side will be that much sweeter.
