‘They want to sign’: Dortmund could now beat Tottenham to two of Paratici’s main transfer targets – journalist

Tottenham could end up missing out on two transfer targets to Borussia Dortmund, according to German journalist, Christian Falk.

Those two players come in the form of Mohammed Kudus and Weston McKennie. The young duo are both known to be on Tottenham’s list of potential signings.

Kudus is said to be seen by Spurs as the ideal back up and competition for Dejan Kulusevski. McKennie, meanwhile, has been on the radar for some time and Fabio Paratici is known to be a fan of the American.

However, speaking to , German transfer expert Falk believes Dortmund could trump Spurs to both Kudus and McKennie.

“Dortmund are searching for a player like Weston McKennie but I heard that option No.1 is Mohammed Kudus of Ajax. There are still talks with him and they want to sign him if it’s possible to arrange,” Falk .

“I’m sure McKennie’s on the list but I think they’re talking mainly about other names but if they don’t come then he could, I think, be an option.”

Both players enjoyed impressive World Cups with the USA and Ghana respectively. Kudus got himself among the goals while McKennie impressed in the middle of the park.

TBR’s View: Typical of Tottenham to miss out on big deals

Well, that would be what Tottenham fans would end up saying about this one. Having had McKennie and Kudus on the radar for so long, it would sting to see Dortmund sign them both.

Sure, Dortmund are a big club who offer players a chance to shine. But it’s not like they’re one of the giants Tottenham can’t compete with in the market.

For Tottenham, this January window is important. They need a few players in, and both Kudus and McKennie improve things. If they get neither, then it will be like they’re back at square one.
