Borussia Dortmund now want to sign ‘special’ Leeds player in January – Journalist
Leeds United could be about to lose one of their top young talents, with Cody Drameh wanted by Borussia Dortmund and Newcastle, among others.
The respected journalist and transfer specialist believes Drameh could be on his way in January. Among the clubs named, Dortmund and Newcastle are the most high-profile.
Bayer Leverkusen and Lille are also thought to be monitoring Drameh, according to Romano’s tweet.
Drameh, 20, has struggled to really make much of an impact under Jesse Marsch after running into similar issues with Marcelo Bielsa.
He did spend a productive spell with Cardiff City last season out on loan. However, he’s failed to really kick on and with his contract running down to, Leeds could now sell.
Of course, the idea of going to Dortmund will appeal to Drameh. A number of young British players have made moves to the Bundesliga in recent seasons and found success. Newcastle, meanwhile, are a project in the making and Drameh could be offered big money in the northeast.
Dubbed a ‘special‘ player for a prior under-23s performance, Leeds fans will be baffled if Drameh does move on.

TBR’s View: Leeds giving up on Drameh
Or maybe it’s the other way around? Drameh might have had enough of not getting too many chances and simply fancy moving on to pastures new.
Certainly, there is a good young player in there with Drameh. However, you have to do the hard work and get in, then stay in, the team. At the moment, he isn’t quite doing that.
Leeds, then, will want a nice fee with a sell-on included you feel here. Dortmund would be a massive move for Drameh as well, given how well players have progressed there before.
