‘Don’t want to go near him’… Reiss Nelson says £25m Arsenal teammate is a bit careless in training

Reiss Nelson has made a claim about Arsenal No.6 Gabriel Magalhaes regarding training at London Colney.

The 24-year-old made the comments when speaking to Sky Sports with Eddie Nketiah.

So, what did Reiss Nelson say about his Arsenal teammate Gabriel Magalhaes? Let’s take a look…

Reiss Nelson says Gabriel Magalhaes is rash in training

Well, the Arsenal No.24 and Nketiah were asked to say who they think is the best central defender in the Premier League.

The Arsenal duo named Gabriel as England’s best defender, before the conversation developed and they were asked what the Brazilian is like in training.

Nelson : “You don’t wanna go near him, he’s one of those rash players, but his intensity is good.”

Hopefully not too rash!

Having said that, we’ve seen how “rash” training can get at London Colney sometimes, with Alexandre Lacazette and Cedric memorably clashing in Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing documentary at Arsenal.

Nevertheless, they say you should always train how you play, and nobody can question Gabriel’s methods – the South American is having a simply outstanding campaign for the Gunners.

Arsenal No.6 has “clattered” a teammate before

Nelson is not the only Arsenal player who thinks Gabriel plays very physically in training.

Mika Biereth – who is currently impressing on loan at Sturm Graz – recently iNews that the Brazil international “clattered” him at London Colney once.

The Danish striker – who has been compared to Manchester United No.11 Rasmus Hojlund – said: “One of the first sessions I was over there, I was trying to hold the ball up and big Gabi just clattered through the back of me.

“It felt like a car crash. He is massive and I would have only been 18 at the time.”

Clearly, Gabriel gives 100% in training – no matter who he is up against.
