‘Don’t make me laugh’: Some Rangers fans react to reported £15m Leeds bid for Ibrox star

Rangers fans have responded with derision to reports that Leeds United are lining up a £15 million bid for Ryan Kent.

The 24-year-old has been on fine form this season, contributing nine Premiership goals as Steven Gerrard’s men wrapped up the title by early March.

He has also shone in Europe, scoring crucial goals home and away in the Europa League win over Belgian side Royal Antwerp.

Leeds are believed to have made two previous attempts to sign Kent, and the are now reporting that the Premier League outfit are preparing a £15 million bid.

They claim that manager Marcelo Bielsa wants a quick response from the former Liverpool man.

Some Rangers supporters, however, believe the figure quoted is far from sufficient.

Speaking recently on , former Ibrox midfielder Alex Rae claimed that the player is worth at least £25 million.

That assessment appears to be more in line with the thinking of these Rangers supporters below.

Rae said: “Looking at the stats this year, his performance levels, the European performances.

“I would say 25 plus. Without a doubt. The modern day player? You have a guy who is 24 who has all of his best years ahead of him.

“I just think with the performances, there will be a few people knocking at the door and I think it is a big year.

“We raised certain questions about Ryan Kent in periods through the season in terms of stats.

In his last nine games, he has five goals. He now has 12 goals and 13 assists. He has contributed in 25 goals this season.

“He still has a long way to go, but those are impressive stats.”

Kent arrived at Ibrox on loan from Liverpool in July 2018 as one of Gerrard’s first signings, and went on to make the move permanent for £6.5 million in September 2019.
