‘Don’t go there’… Rio Ferdinand reacts after what Martin Keown said following Arsenal’s win vs Porto
Rio Ferdinand and Martin Keown had a little disagreement following Arsenal’s penalty shootout win against Porto last night.
The Gunners are through to the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the first time in 14 years. They have a fantastic squad, and some feel they could even go on and win it. Ferdinand, however, disagrees.

Rio Ferdinand and Martin Keown disagree on if Arsenal can win the Champions League
Arsenal were made to work really hard by Porto over the two legs.
The Gunners have been in incredible form in the Premier League, but their last two games in the Champions League haven’t been as easy.
However, David Raya came up with the goods for the Gunners in the penalty shootout last night, and Arsenal are now through to the quarter-finals.
Martin Keown, who is Arsenal through and through, was delighted with the result after the game. He even backed the Gunners to win the competition.
Rio Ferdinand, however, wasn’t having it. Here’s how their conversation went on last night:
Keown said: “It’s a really big night where they can feel like they’re potentially going to be winners. That’s the thing now, to go to the next stage.
Ferdinand replied: “It’s a bit early man, don’t go there, come on. Let’s not go there, Martin. It’s too early.”
Arsenal’s focus now is on Manchester City
Arsenal would surely love to win the Champions League this season, but at this moment, their focus will only be on one thing – the game against Manchester City.
The Gunners have a long break now. Their game against Chelsea this weekend has been postponed and there’s an international break right after.
Arsenal’s next game is on the final day of this month at the Etihad. That is going to be one of the most important fixtures of their season, and Mikel Arteta will do everything he possibly can to win that game.
As for the Champions League, Arsenal will find out their next opponents in the draw that’s scheduled to take place on Friday.
