Don Hutchison says one Liverpool mainstay ‘upsets the flow’ of Jurgen Klopp’s side

that Mo Salah “upsets the flow” of Liverpool’s side after struggling during Wednesday night’s 0-0 Premier League draw against Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.

Salah, 28, came into the match against Newcastle having failed to rule out a move to either Barcelona or Real Madrid in a recent interview with Spanish newspaper AS. Certainly, his performance was affected by something.

The Egyptian gave the ball away and missed numerous chances – including one glorious moment. Slipped in by Roberto Firmino, Salah had the simple task of curling an effort into the far corner from 12 yards. He shot wide.

Hutchison discussed the former Chelsea and Roma man after the match – claiming that he disrupts Liverpool’s attacking flow. He also labelled just how “frustrating” Salah can be when watching him.

“I think he is world class,” . “But he frustrates you when you watch him play, and not just with his finishing. It’s the simple things, he doesn’t complete a 10-yard pass, he seems a bit sloppy, bit casual.

“Sometimes he upsets the flow of Liverpool. He can give a ball away and Liverpool have to start again. Maybe the noises of Real and Barca may have affected him a little – but he seems off it.”

TBR’s view – Should Liverpool consider Salah sale?

While Hutchison has labelled Salah as world class, he does seem to forget that while Salah’s link-up play is not as good as Roberto Firmino or Sadio Mane’s ability to contribute, he scores goals and changes games.

Mane and Firmino keep the ball better and are able to create chances. Salah is not as good at that, but his 16 goals in 23 appearances his hard to ignore. Yes – he had an off day on Wednesday, but he might have just been tired.

Even the best can have an off day, and he will remain a crucial Liverpool player – certainly, and offers will surely be rejected if they are forthcoming for Salah.
